About
This study involved the collaboration of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in testing the reliability of ventilator devices stored long term in the CDC Strategic National Stockpile (SNS). Three ventilator models were evaluated for performance in simulated adult populations: Impact Uni-Vent 754 Eagle™, Covidien LP10, and CareFusion LTV 1200. Findings show that most ventilators met or exceeded manufacturer specifications, except for some Impact 754 units with lower battery performance, indicating their reliability during public health emergencies with regular maintenance.
