About
The article examines the utilization of Pediatric Disaster Triage (PDT) systems across the United States. A survey was conducted to determine the systems used, user satisfaction, preferences, and incidents prompting system activation. Results showed that 88% of respondents used formal PDT systems, with JumpSTART being the most commonly used and preferred system. However, there is a lack of standardization in approach across states/territories. While incidents prompting system activation were similar, the number of patients triggering activation varied. The study highlights the importance of standardized PDT systems and the need for consistency in managing pediatric disaster triage across the US.
