About
This article details the tools and methods used for a successful planned evacuation a healthcare institution. Tools included patient checklists, evacuation handoff tools, and a patient tracking system. Monthly exercises and simulation drills were conducted prior to the evacuation. The entire process took less than 14 hours without safety issues, transporting 127 patients. The Neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team moved 45 patients, while the rest were relocated using different team configurations. The developed documents and tools proved effective for planned and unplanned evacuations, enhancing overall preparedness for healthcare facilities in similar situations.
