National Survey of Institutional Pediatric Disaster Preparedness

This study surveyed hospitals across the United States (US) to assess their disaster preparedness for pediatric patients. Findings showed that most hospitals included pediatric patients in their plans. Hospitals with a designated pediatric disaster planner were more comprehensive in addressing pediatric care in their disaster plans, involving special healthcare needs, simulated patients, and decontamination procedures.
