About
Conducting research in the aftermath of disasters presents challenges due to chaotic conditions, ethical concerns, and limited resources. The focus is on understanding the impact of disasters on children, families, and communities to enhance services and policies. However, the current research on children and disasters is insufficient for effective psychosocial interventions and resource allocation. To address this, the Child & Family Disaster Research Training & Education program offers mental health research training. The program includes a modular disaster research curriculum developed by a national faculty, covering various aspects from basic concepts to ethical issues. Focus groups were conducted to tailor the training to participants' needs and refine the curriculum.
