About
This study assessed how emergency department staff perceived using global positioning system (GPS) devices to track patients during a simulated mass casualty event. The GPS devices were affixed to some patients in the simulation, allowing staff to track them in real-time using an application. Results showed that staff found the GPS devices beneficial for patient care, improving situational awareness and patient management during disasters.
