This article discusses the challenges faced in family reunification during disasters, particularly focusing on issues related to children. The lack of a consistent reunification plan, difficulties tracking children, and interoperability issues with existing systems are highlighted. National meetings were held with experts to address patient transportation, technology, clinical and nonmedical issues, communication, and psychosocial support for pediatric patients. Recommendations were made and accepted to improve reunification processes. The article emphasizes the need for further work on interoperable tracking systems, pediatric psychological support, patient transportation, and care of unaccompanied pediatric patients in disaster situations.
