About
This article focuses on child abuse in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. It describes how emotional and physical abuse of children aged 2 to 14 increased following the disaster. The study used data from Haitian households before and after the earthquake, showing improvements in education and mobile phone use but high rates of child abuse. Severe physical abuse was more common in settlement camps than elsewhere. The findings highlight a need for urgent action to reduce child abuse in Haiti, especially following natural disasters like earthquakes.
