This study analyzed disaster patterns in Germany and France from a pediatric perspective using the Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT). Between 2006 and 2016, Germany had 41 disasters resulting in 259 deaths, while France had 42 disasters resulting in 4973 deaths. Most events in both countries were storms, extreme temperatures, floods, and transport accidents. In France, heat waves caused the highest casualties. The study emphasizes the importance of age-specific disaster data for pediatric disaster resilience.
