Pediatric Seizure for the Prehospital Provider

Seizures are a common clinical encounter seen in pediatric patients treated by EMS. In this module, we are going to go over the management of pediatric seizures in the prehospital setting.

Upon completion of this module, learners will be able to:

* Define pediatric seizure and status epilepticus.
* Describe presentations of seizure and status epilepticus in pediatric patients.
* Describe common underlying causes for pediatric seizure.
* Identify active seizures in pediatric patients.
* Describe Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) management priorities for pediatric seizure.
* Review recent literature on EMS pediatric seizure management.
