About
This article examines the bioterrorism preparedness of pediatricians in Michigan through a survey conducted in 2006. Findings reveal that while the majority of respondents acknowledge terrorism as a threat, especially biological agents, they feel underprepared for a bioterrorist attack. Only half have a workplace disaster plan, a small percentage feel adequately prepared, and most lack certifications and training related to bioterrorism. The study highlights the need for enhanced educational programs to boost pediatricians' readiness for potential biological events, as indicated by their expressed desire for more training and specific preferences for educational formats.
