About
In this study, hospital employees were surveyed about their willingness to donate warm fresh whole blood (WFWB) to civilian programs. Most respondents were female (71%), familiar with blood donation, and willing to donate. Barriers to donation included childcare responsibilities. Implementing a WFWB program for civilians must address logistical challenges and donor availability. Future research should focus on regulatory issues, quality systems for emergency donations, workforce structure, impact on blood inventory, and community perspectives.
