About
This study evaluates healthcare worker training in pediatric disaster medicine knowledge and its impact on attitudes. Conducted at a large children's hospital, physicians and nurses underwent didactic lectures or lectures plus tabletop exercises. Post-intervention testing showed improved knowledge over six months, with tabletop participants feeling more confident. Both training methods enhanced knowledge retention and comfort levels. The findings suggest tabletop exercises could enhance staff readiness for disasters. Overall, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of training programs in improving healthcare workers' preparedness and confidence in pediatric disaster medicine.
