This article discusses the potential impact of school and daycare closures during an influenza pandemic on public health staff. A survey conducted in a population health unit revealed that a significant percentage of staff may be absent due to childcare responsibilities, but many can work from home with internet access. Staff expressed concerns about exposure to the virus, personal protection, training, equipment availability, and sick leave policies. Despite challenges, the findings suggest that public health agency staff are willing and capable of working remotely.
