This study was conducted to understand how newborns of mothers with COVID-19 were managed in the delivery room during the peak of the pandemic in New York City. Mothers were tested for COVID-19, and their infants were either sent to the well-baby nursery or the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at a hospital. Protocols were established for handling deliveries, ensuring the availability of protective equipment, and following specific steps for resuscitation and NICU admission.
