About
This study surveyed 102 European emergency departments (EDs) for children during the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights differences in preparedness, such as having contingency plans and using personal protective equipment (PPE). Many EDs lacked proper isolation rooms and PPE, leading to staff infections. The study shows that while most EDs had management plans for COVID-19 cases, there were gaps in training and resources. The findings emphasize the need for better planning to protect patients and healthcare workers during pandemics. Overall, it underscores the importance of being ready for future health crises.
