About
This article describes a study by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health on how quickly and accurately antibiotics can be given to families during an emergency. They used a head-of-household method, where one person picks up medicine for everyone in their home. The study found that using express lines helped people get medicine faster without mistakes. In two hours, 717 heads of households got medication for 2,120 people. Most were served quickly and correctly with only a few needing extra screening time. This method could help reach many people fast in public health emergencies like anthrax exposure.
