                This study analyzed posttraumatic stress (PTS) symptom trajectories in youths (6-16 years) after 4 major US hurricanes: Andrew [1992], Charley [2004], Ike [2005], and Katrina [2008].  Identified symptom trajectories include chronic, recovery, moderate-stable, and low-decreasing. Older youths and males were less likely to have chronic PTS symptoms. Most youths showed recovery or low-decreasing PTS symptoms. Intervention may benefit youths with chronic or moderate-stable trajectories.
