About
This study examined the response stages within two children's hospitals on the West Coast of the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. These hospitals adjusted their focus from preparing for a surge in child patients to assisting with the adult response, as pediatric volumes remained low. They also planned for future needs by considering accepting older patients and transferring pediatric cases from other hospitals to free up space for adult patients during the pandemic's peak times. It highlights the critical need for flexibility and resilience, in addition to coordinated regional response.Tags
