About
This study evaluated a program in New Jersey that gives out potassium iodide (KI) pills to people living near nuclear power plants. It describes how the program aims to protect residents during emergencies. People who attended clinics learned more about KI than those who didn't. However, many still had trouble understanding when and how to use the pills, especially for children and pregnant women. The study found that some areas received more KI pills than others, showing uneven distribution. More education is needed on using KI correctly during nuclear emergencies.
