This article explores the challenges faced by pediatric emergency medicine departments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through qualitative interviews with physicians, key themes such as communication, leadership, and clinical practice were identified. Recommendations include improving communication strategies, enhancing emergency department representation in hospital incident command, and adapting practices to ensure safety. By sharing experiences and solutions, pediatric emergency departments can better prepare for future pandemics. The study involved 14 PEM-trained physicians, highlighting the importance of preparedness and adaptation in providing high-quality care while keeping healthcare workers safe.Tags
