This article describes how speech-language pathologists (SLPs) used telepractice to help children with communication disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic. It explains that many SLPs were not confident in using telepractice, especially those new to it or working in schools. The study found that more training and time spent on telepractice increased confidence. SLPs often used online presentations and support from colleagues for learning. They wanted more resources on planning sessions, using technology, and working with families. The findings highlight the need for better training and support for SLPs using telepractice with students who use AAC devices.
