This article examines the mental health impact on adolescents in Orissa, India, one year after a super-cyclone. It describes how many teens showed signs of PTSD, depression, and anxiety one year after the disaster. About 38% had some psychiatric disorder, with comorbidity common among them. Middle-class teens were more affected than others. The study highlights the need for better mental health support post-disaster and notes that boys and girls experienced symptoms differently. It emphasizes ongoing challenges due to lack of early psychological help and suggests that community support might have helped some adolescents cope better.
