This article uses a disaster management framework to offer guidance on maternal-infant health during COVID-19. It provides the following recommendations for supporting breastfeeding during the pandemic: promote breastfeeding/milk expression, avoid formula, involve healthcare providers in supporting lactation, and include evidence-based protocols in disaster plans. Using human milk banks when needed is also suggested. The article highlights the importance of planning ahead to ensure that mothers can continue breastfeeding during disasters or pandemics for better health outcomes.Tags
