This article describes the work of the Federal Region 2 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (PEHSU) in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands that supports health professionals' knowledge building and how the nursing sector was integral to these efforts to build pediatric environmental health (PEH) capacity and promote access to PEH services for families to bolster disaster resilience.
