About
This scoping review evaluates the current research regarding psychological interventions for children (under 18 years old) experiencing post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after exposure to natural disasters, a single incident trauma. It focuses on health issues in rural, regional, and remote areas of Australia. Findings overall showed that psychological interventions significantly reduce PTSD symptoms significantly long-term. However, studies on interventions were retrospective due to natural disasters, with limitations and methodological flaws.
