About

This research focused on creating realistic training simulations for emergency medical service (EMS) providers to handle pediatric disaster situations. The study involved designing scenarios like a school shooting, bus crash, and house fire with child victims. By involving experts in the field, they developed evaluation tools to assess how well paramedics triaged and treated the victims in the simulations. Through a feedback process, biases towards specific treatment strategies were identified and corrected. The study concluded that the simulations and evaluation tools are now ready to be tested for accuracy and reliability as part of training programs for EMS providers dealing with pediatric emergencies.
