About
Participants in the simulation will learn to recognize signs of status epilepticus, evaluate critically ill patients, develop a differential diagnosis, create a diagnostic plan, and implement medical management for pediatric patients. They will also learn to differentiate benzodiazepines, identify airway compromise, manage airways using appropriate techniques, take a focused history from caregivers, and communicate diagnosis and management effectively. Critical actions include conducting surveys, monitoring patients, assessing airways, ordering laboratory tests, taking a brief history and physical exam, performing Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), consulting Neurology, discussing patient status with families, and determining patient disposition.
