About
This simulation aims to equip participants with the ability to identify upper airway foreign body signs/symptoms, evaluate critically ill patients, and understand radiologic study constraints. Participants will also learn to manage upper airway obstructions, conduct focused history taking, and communicate diagnosis and management effectively. Critical actions involve recognizing stridor, impending airway compromise, and performing necessary interventions like bag-mask ventilation and cricothyroidotomy. Additionally, prompt consultation for foreign body removal, admission to specialized care settings, and discussing diagnosis and management with caregivers are crucial. The simulation emphasizes teamwork, communication, and practical application of learned skills for optimal patient care.
