About
This article describes a study on 51 children with traumatic asphyxia, a rare condition causing symptoms like facial petechiae, edema, and cyanosis. The study took place in West China from 2005 to 2020. Most cases were due to traffic accidents or compression injuries. Common symptoms included facial marks and eye hemorrhages. Many had lung injuries; some had brain or spinal cord issues but no deaths occurred. Treatment was supportive care focusing on severe injuries, leading to good recovery if the central nervous system wasn't severely damaged. The research highlights the importance of thorough examinations for such cases.
