This 2023 report is based for the first time on an analysis using the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB) Monitoring Framework. It shows that the world is still not ready for pandemics and disease outbreaks. While there has been some progress since COVID-19, it is weak and some areas have worsened. The report highlights an urgent need for more political support and resources to improve global preparedness. It describes four key recommendations to strengthen readiness against future health crises.
