This article discusses health disparities among sexual minority youth using data from the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) for 2015. It reveals higher prevalence rates of violence, tobacco use, alcohol/drug use, and sexual risk behaviors among gay, lesbian, and bisexual students compared to heterosexual students. Similar patterns were observed based on the sex of sexual contacts. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions and policies to address these disparities, improve access to healthcare and education, and continue monitoring these behaviors through systems like YRBSS for effective public health action.
