This report describes efforts by the Eastern Great Lakes Pediatric Consortium for Disaster Response to improve pediatric disaster preparedness. Hospitals joined a collaborative program to enhance their ability to care for children during disasters like pandemics. Participants faced challenges due to COVID-19, including staffing issues and time constraints. The program included learning sessions and exercises on topics like patient tracking and family reunification. Despite difficulties, participants found the resources helpful in identifying gaps in their plans. Future plans include online modules and annual exercises to continue supporting hospitals in disaster readiness for children.
