About
An important aspect in achieving regional pediatric disaster capability is building a critical mass of pediatric emergency care coordinators and pediatric disaster champions. These leaders can advocate for the recognition and inclusion of pediatric considerations in the disaster planning efforts of their organization as well as their local jurisdictions. The Eastern Great Lakes Pediatric Consortium for Disaster Response (EGLPCDR) partnered with the EMSC’s Innovation and Improvement Center (EIIC) to conduct the Pediatric Disaster Preparedness Quality (PDPQ) Collaborative. The Collaborative’s mission was to engage local pediatric champions in efforts to improve the ability of their hospital to receive and treat children in response to a pandemic or other disaster.Tags
