About
This article reviews studies on psychological help for children who survived disasters. It describes how different treatments can reduce PTSD symptoms in kids and teens. The review found that therapy helps more than doing nothing, with individual sessions working better than group ones. Some therapies like EMDR and CBT are very effective, especially when done early after the disaster. Involving parents also improves results. Mental health professionals achieve better outcomes compared to teachers or other staff, but all interventions show positive effects overall in helping young survivors recover from trauma-related stress.
