About
This article describes a case where high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) therapy was used for the first time in a prehospital setting on an adult with COVID-19-induced respiratory distress. A 46-year-old man had severe breathing problems, and regular oxygen masks weren't enough. The emergency team used HFNO during his ambulance ride to improve his condition before reaching the hospital. It highlights challenges like power supply and oxygen availability for using HFNO outside hospitals. Solutions such as portable batteries are suggested to make it easier to use HFNO in emergencies before reaching the hospital.
